Quick and fun baby knit

I was not looking for baby knitting when this cute little sweater pattern caught my eyes on a blog. And I had some Silk Alpaca yarn lying around - perfect. It was a quick and fun knit.

Pattern: Camilla babe by by Carrie Bostick Hoge
Yarn: Drops Garnstudio Silke Alpaca
Needles: 4 mm

I fell for the simplicity of the garter stitch together with the feather pattern.

I don't like working garter stitch in the round, and I don't like seaming, so I worked in the round, but turning work each round, joining in one side using wrap and turn. Not a perfect solution. I worked the sleeves flat. Next time I would probably work the body flat too, for some reason my garter stitch doesn't look the same when I work it in the round, knitting and purling.

The yarn is very soft, and I like the colours it comes in. The sweater will be sent to a little baby girl one of these days.

Btw, today is the last day to enter a comment for the giveaway of the 1.000 fabulous knit hats book!

Nydelig! Enkel, men med det lille ekstra.

Jeg har tilfeldigvis noen nøster av garnet liggende, kanskje jeg skulle prøve meg på en sånn.

What a gorgeous sweater, love it! And it's just that little bit different from other baby sweaters too. I was just admiring your owl sweater, it's a great pattern isn't it? And yours looks fab on you, I love your colour choice too. Love Vanessa xxx
