Knitting in colour - y e l l o w

A new post in the "Knitting in colour"-series inspired by Judith. And the colour is yellow! I notice that many say pass, - sorry, I don't have any yellow projects. But I do - yellow used to be my favourite colour. As a child, I felt that an outfit without yellow in it, was really dull, I felt grey without something yellow, as if the yellow would lighten me up as the sun.

I'm actually knitting in yellow at the moment: This is my Easter knitting that I mentioned in my postcard in the last post.

I don't use as much yellow as I did as a child, and I do worry that this Audrey in Unst-cardigan will be too yellow... but we'll see. The pattern is from Twist Collective autumn 2009, and the designer is Gudrun Johnston. Pickles sold their "Easter-coloured" yarn with 20% discount, and on an impulse, I bought this Sunflower yarn. I had been looking for yarn for this cardigan for a while, and this fine merino yarn had the right weight.

Knitting in colour - r e d -

This time Judith 's colour challenge is red. I like red, and obviuously, football teams do too - I used a lot of red making football hats last year.

I also have a red hat myself, made many years ago, still in use when I go skiing. The red garter stitch scarf is a gift from a friend.

And here's an even older sweater.

The photo is not so good, but you can see there are cables. It's nice and warm, but not very elegant. And there are som stains on it, so I don't use it anymore. But I have been thinking of doing some kind of redesign, to make it more interesting and wearable, and remove or hide the stains in some way. We'll see.

Judith 's first colour challenge this year is blue.

I searched my Ravelry page for projects tagged with blue, and here's the result. I know there are more blue projects, although it's not the colour I use most, but I obviously haven't tagged them with "blue".

Judith 's challenge this time is pink. Which is not my colour, but when I had a look, I found several projects, so obviously I use more pink than orange! All of these have been given away, though. Most of them are free patterns, maybe you can get some inspiration.

Knitting in colour - o r a n g e -

Judith (Norwegian blog) has invited her fellow knitting bloggers to show their work in colour - and first is orange. She herself has some beautiful photos in her post. Orange is one of my favourite colours - and I thought, no problem, I must have lots of orange projects. But no, I could only find two (not counting the huge orange mohair sweater I made in the eighties, which I (un)fortunately don't have a photo of..)

The "Hup Holland" hat is of course orange:

And then the Wintergreen mittens, made in white and the orange part of Kauni effektgarn rainbow.

White and orange is a nice colour combo I think - have a look at these socks. I definitely must use more orange!!
